Before coming to 13 Stripes, I could never motivate myself to work out. Since I started, everyone here has been so supportive. From my personal trainers to my nutrition coaches, they all reach out and ask how they can help and help me stay accountable and on track. I also am not able to do certain exercises due to some medical concerns and they make sure that I can still get a great workout in without having any issues with pain. If someone was nervous to get started, I would tell them, it's ok to feel that way. But once you get going, it's totally worth it.
Since I joined 13 Stripes, I feel happier and full of energy! I may not have the best completion times or finish at the top of the pack, but that doesn't matter to me because I feel healthier! If you're nervous to get started, take the jump! It can be intimidating to get started because of all the people who already seem to know what they are doing, but I promise you, no one truly knows 100% of everything. It's a very helpful and nurturing environment. If there is an exercise that may not be right for you or your body, the trainers are quick to provide a solution.
Joining a gym was not a part of my original summer plans. But it was a decision I will never regret. I've tried other gyms before, but I was never comfortable, I didn't know who to go to for help, and I had no idea what exercises would be the best to do. But at 13 Stripes, I love the personal training where I receive instruction on different exercises that not only help me, but prevent injury. It had been worth every penny. I have not only lost weight, but I have increased my strength and energy level. I also have increased my self-esteem and self-confidence. My two young children, especially my daughter, has noticed this change. I want to lead by example, and this has been such an incredible change.
