As many of you have seen, Pennsylvania has begun to take steps to reopen the state for business. While we do not have any exact guidelines from the Governor for either York or Dauphin County, we do know that we are headed in the right direction. We will continue to follow the guidance from the state to insure the safety of our members and their family.
With so much uncertainty, we want you to know that we do have a clear plan for when we are able to begin training in person again. Keep in mind that while this is a good estimation of how things go, COVID has thrown us many curveballs and we may have to readjust.
What does it mean when we move to yellow?
When we are moved into the yellow phase, we have been given the go ahead to begin outdoor training in small groups again. However, we know that many of you will want to remain training at home, which means that we will keep several options available to members. While in the yellow phase, we will offer a limited schedule of outdoor training, continue remote 1-on-1 training options, and continue zoom classes.
In our outdoor classes, each person will have a defined station that will be set up for them to make sure that proper social distancing occurs. In addition, each station will have cleaning supplies provided for members to be able to clean before and after their workout. Staff will also be cleaning equipment between uses, but we want to make sure everyone feels safe using anything they touch.
We know that the guidance is groups of 25 or less in yellow, but we believe that a smaller group will be needed that will allow us to make sure all equipment is cleaned and proper social distancing can occur between members before, during, and after the workout.
During this phase, we will implement the following safety measures:
- We will take everyone’s temperature before attending the workout. Less than 100.4 is the number we will require to stay.
- If you have cold like symptoms or do not feel well, please do not come. Even if it’s just allergies, we want everyone to feel safe.
- You will need to wipe down and clean all equipment between use.
- There will be no sharing of equipment.
- No entrance into the facility will be allowed if we are nearby. The gym will remain locked until we enter the green phase.
- If you have been exposed to COVID, please do not attend workouts for 14 days.
What happens when we move to green?
When we move to green, we understand that there may be some of you who still feel uncomfortable coming to a class environment again. We will continue to offer several different models of training.
In-person Only
For those of you ready to return, you can resume in-person classes as long as you follow the safety measures and social distancing guidelines. After we receive more guidance from Pennsylvania, we will be able to define how we set up the classes and the flow of people in them.
Flex Training
This type of plan will be for those of you who wish to do some in-person classes, but due to schedules, will still need to continue your workouts at home. We will continue to offer customized workouts through TrueCoach for your equipment and you will be able to register for classes as well.
Remote Coaching Only
Some of you may not feel comfortable returning to a class environment for a while. We will continue to provide 1-on-1 customized coaching and accountability, as well as a schedule of zoom classes for an extended period of time. You will continue to have a coach assigned to you as well.
What about the equipment?
- A specific date and time will be set to return equipment.
- All equipment will be sanitized upon its return to make sure it is safe for people to use.
Green Phase Safety Measures
In this phase we will implement all safety measures from the yellow phase, but will add some additional measures once we are in the building and running classes again.
- You will need to register for class to make sure we can keep the social distancing guidelines met.
- Shower facilities will be unavailable for the time being.
- There will be breaks between classes to make sure that staff is able to clean equipment and wipe down everything.
- Hand sanitizer will need to be used before coming to class and before leaving.
Next Steps:
At this point, we do not know the exact timeline for all of this to occur. However, we do know that the Governor is making periodic announcements about when counties can move into the yellow and we want you to know the plan we have created.
