2020 is the Year of Hard

2020 is the Year of Hard. Regardless of how you look at it, this year has been life changing for every single person. But…we can either let the hard consume us or we can let the hard motivate us.

With less than 70 days left in 2020, which are you going to choose?

Now that you’ve committed to letting the hard things motivate you, follow these 3 steps to make sure that you stay the course.

  1. Stay Positive – Research has shown that happiness is a key indicator of productivity and success. Use small wins to stay positive. This is one of the main reasons we celebrate Bright Spots Friday each week. Over time, these small wins add up and increase both your happiness, but success rate.
  2. Choose Rewards, not Punishments – Too many times I hear of people punishing themselves for slipping up with their nutrition habits or for missing a workouts. Flip the narrative and choose to reward yourself for positive changes. Research has shown that rewards can account for up to 75% of motivation towards accomplishment.
  3. Find a support system – Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed and who already are motivated towards the same goals. The groups you associate with influence eating habits, health habits, emotional state, and even career aspirations.

The hardest step is often the first step. If you’re motivated to change, but not sure how to get there, schedule a time to sit down with one of our team at www.13stripesfitness.com
